The 96-year-old actor shared the snap on Instagram for Natasha's 56th birthday, noting how proud he and his wife Jill are of her.

Robert Wagner posted a rare photo with Natasha, the daughter of his late wife Natalie Wood, on Instagram for her 56th birthday on Sept. 29. Natasha, who bears a striking resemblance to her famous mother, smiles at the camera from a restaurant table next to Wagner, who is dressed in a black suit jacket and shirt.

"Please join me in wishing a very Happy Birthday to my wonderful daughter, Natasha," Wagner wrote. "Jill [Wagner's wife] and I are so proud of the woman you are and the joy, laughter, and love you bring into our lives. We love you and wish you the happiest of birthdays."

Natasha was born in 1970 to Wood and her first husband, British producer Richard Gregson, who split before Wagner legally adopted Natasha. Wagner and Wood first married in 1957, divorced in 1962, and remarried in 1972. They had daughter Courtney together, and Wagner has another daughter, Katie, from his marriage to actress Marion Marshall. After Wood's death in 1981, Wagner married actress Jill St. John in 1990.

Wood's death and its aftermath

Wood died at 43 when she drowned during a trip on Wagner's yacht with him and actor Christopher Walken. Initially ruled an accident, her death certificate was amended in 2012 to cite "drowning and other undetermined factors." In 2018, detective Ralph Hernandez named Wagner a person of interest after witnesses said Wood had been arguing with him at the boat's edge before she disappeared. But the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department cleared Wagner in May 2022 after a reopened investigation.

"All leads in the Natalie Wood case have been exhausted, and the case remains an open, unsolved case," Lt. Hugo Reynaga told Page Six at the time.

Wood's sister, Lana Wood, told The Post in 2021 that she believed Wagner was responsible. "I don't believe it was premeditated," Lana said. "But that doesn't mean I don't think he did it. Of course he did!"

Natasha, only 11 when her mother died, told the Daily Mail last month that both her biological father and Wagner supported her. "Luckily I had these two men, Daddy Gregson and Daddy Wagner, who came together and rose to the occasion and completely put me first," she said.
