Constance Zimmer reveals breast cancer diagnosis, treatment

The 'Entourage' actor said on Instagram she is now cancer-free after a lumpectomy and radiation.

Constance Zimmer is sharing a health update she kept private for seven months, Page Six reports. The 55-year-old actor posted on Instagram Sunday that she was diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer on March 13.

She wrote that she heard the news over a Zoom call while away from home. "The silence was deafening," she recalled.

Zimmer said she told only her husband, Russ Lamoureux, and her daughter, Colette. She then consulted multiple doctors. Most recommended a mastectomy. She chose a lumpectomy instead, a surgery that removes the tumor while keeping most of the breast.

"It did take three surgeries — three weeks in a row, but [my doctor] did it, she saved my breast and it looks good too!" Zimmer wrote.

During this time, she was on a press tour for the FX series "Love Story" and later received an Emmy nomination. She said she kept her diagnosis and treatment private through it all. She then followed the surgeries with radiation.

Zimmer confirmed she is now cancer free. She encouraged other women not to wait for symptoms to get checked. The post ended: "From hospital gowns to Emmy glamour, this was one hell of a ride."
