Klitschko Wants Probe Into Pawned Panettiere Jewelry

The former boxer says a "non-family member" may have sold items belonging to the late actress, per court records.

Wladimir Klitschko is asking law enforcement to investigate what happened to items belonging to his ex, Hayden Panettiere, that turned up at a pawn shop.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Tuesday, October 6, Klitschko, 50, "is informed and believes that a non-family member previously connected to Hayden sold certain items" belonging to the late actress.

"The pawn shop has declined to disclose specific item information without being contacted by law enforcement," Klitschko claims in the filings. "There is a real and continuing risk that any remaining items, including jewelry, believed to belong to Hayden, will be sold, transferred or otherwise rendered unrecoverable."

Earlier this month, a source exclusively told Us that Panettiere's engagement ring from Klitschko had gone missing in her final days. The pair were together on and off from 2009 to 2018 and got engaged in 2013. They share 11-year-old daughter Kaya.

A guardianship effort

Klitschko's latest court filing is part of his push to be named guardian of Kaya's estate. He first asked a court in September for that role so he can "have standing to file" and "nominate a proposed administrator" on his daughter's behalf to "protect" her rights to Panettiere's estate.

In this new filing, the former professional boxer noted that "no personal representative of Hayden's Estate has yet been appointed," and claimed nobody "has authority to request law enforcement assistance in investigating the recovery of Hayden's property, to the direct financial detriment of Kaya, Hayden's sole intestate."

Us has reached out to Klitschko's attorneys for additional comment.

Panettiere died on August 16 at age 36. Per the Greenville County Coroner's Office in South Carolina, the "Nashville" actress died from the "toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine." Her death was ruled accidental.

Following her death, Klitschko posted a tribute to his late ex on Instagram on August 18. "Our family is going through a time of profound shock and grief," he wrote. "Hayden was, although no longer my partner, an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya."
