Amanda Seyfried passed on a show over its sex scenes
At a Hamptons panel with Alec Baldwin, the actor said she is "not into" filming sex scenes now that her kids are watching.

Amanda Seyfried turned down a show because of how much sex was in it. She said so on a panel hosted by Alec Baldwin at the Hamptons International Film Festival in East Hampton, New York, Oct. 4, per People, as Page Six reports.
"I passed on a show where I would have to have sex all the time because of the sex," she said, according to People. "I don't wanna do it. I'm uncomfortable with it. I'm not into it right now."
That is a reversal. Seyfried, 40, told Baldwin that sex scenes were once "a non-thing" for her. "It was like, 'I get to make out with a hot person today... And they're paying me.'"
What changed
Her children, by her own account. She and Thomas Sadoski have two kids, daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas, 6. "I have kids now who are paying attention to what I do," she said, per People.
She did not shut the door all the way. She said a project arriving at a later point might get a different answer. For now: "I don't wanna deal with being naked with a stranger."
"As I get older, it gets weirder," she said of roles like these. "We have to be romantic with people that we're not romantic with."
The PR Read
A panel Q&A is the one venue where a working actor can say this and nobody follows up. There is no release to parse and no one asking a second question.
Moves like this one usually signal a line drawn before the offers arrive, and they usually arrive with a hedge. Seyfried supplied both. She did not name the show, which keeps one project from becoming the story, and she left room for an answer that changes.
Not exactly idle
The pickiness costs her nothing right now. She appeared in two films, The Testament of Ann Lee and The Housemaid, and one series, Peacock's Long Bright River. She told Us Weekly the schedule has been heavy: "This is the most I've ever worked with two kids, and I've never had two movies come out at the same time," she said, adding, "I'm a little bit bananas right now."
She and Sadoski, who said last month that their marriage of nine years had ended, met in 2015 in the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By. They also shared a screen in the 2017 film The Last Word. In a statement to People, they said of the separation: "We have been separated for a while, and it's proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We've got each other forever, and it's GOOD."
The group-chat line
Amanda Seyfried says she said no to a show over its sex scenes, and she is at peace with that.
