Taylor Swift's 'Patient Zero' ends Ella Langley's record Hot 100 run
Swift's new single knocks Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' from No. 1 after 24 weeks at the top.

Taylor Swift has ended Ella Langley's historic run atop the Billboard Hot 100, Page Six reports.
Swift's single "Patient Zero" replaced Langley's country hit "Choosin' Texas" at the No. 1 spot on the chart on Monday.
"Choosin' Texas" had spent a record-breaking 24 weeks leading the list, dropping to No. 2. Swift's three other songs from her album "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore" -- "Cleveland!", "Babylon" and "Pink Clouding" -- rounded out the top five.
"Patient Zero," released on Sept. 25, is Swift's 16th song to reach the top spot on the Hot 100. The 36-year-old pop star now has the third-most No. 1s in chart history, behind the Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (19).
Langley, 27, broke through in February when "Choosin' Texas" went viral and reached No. 1, staying there for 24 weeks. The song surpassed Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You," which spent 22 weeks atop the chart.
After the historic achievement, Langley posted a Sept. 22 Instagram video telling followers she was speechless. "Thank you so much. Thank you for loving this song, for listening to it. I don't even know what to say at this point," she said, per the outlet.
Days later at a concert in Columbus, Ohio, Langley hit back at critics who she said have been "picking on" her since she beat Carey's record.
"I don't think I've ever had more opinions on myself in my life than I have in this last year," she told the crowd, according to Page Six, noting she's been criticized for "the way I look, the way I speak, the way I dress."
Langley admitted she doesn't know if she's "strong enough" to handle the public scrutiny, but said "the girl that they're kind of picking on is the girl that got me where I'm sitting here today. So I'm going to tell you right now: I am proud of that girl."
