Kody Brown Still Stirring the Pot Between Meri and Janelle

Even after leaving Sister Wives, Kody Brown is fueling drama between his ex-wives over the Coyote Pass sale, Us Weekly reports.

Kody Brown may have walked away from *Sister Wives* ahead of season 21, but he’s still haunting the show’s drama. Us Weekly reports that during Sunday’s season premiere, Janelle Brown accused Kody of making up a story about her trying to cut Meri Brown out of the Coyote Pass land sale.

“As a parting gift because Kody and Robyn aren’t filming with us anymore, he felt like he should make up this story that I had somehow tried to go behind Meri’s back,” Janelle told Christine Brown on the episode, per Us Weekly. She called the accusation a “final F-you as he was leaving.”

The land in Arizona sold for $1.5 million in April 2025. But months after the deal closed, Kody claimed during the season 20 reunion that Janelle wanted a “backdoor deal” with him — something Janelle says is totally untrue.

Meri’s caught in the middle

Meri, 55, admitted she doesn’t “know all the details” but was under the impression that Janelle and Kody had allegedly talked about selling without her consent and just giving her “however much they felt like I was owed.”

When Janelle and Meri finally met in person to hash it out, they were clearly on different pages. Janelle insisted, “I was not trying to cut you out of the deal,” while Meri still had “so many questions.”

“Kody’s stirring the pot, even after the fact. I’m like, ‘Leave it alone,’” Janelle told Meri. “But he just can’t help himself.”

Classic Kody exit strategy

Kody and Robyn Brown confirmed in September that they wouldn’t return for season 21 after 16 years on TLC. But leaving the show didn’t mean leaving the mess. Janelle summed it up in her confessional: “I just want this thing to be over. I thought it was. Apparently not, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you, Kody Brown.”
