JoJo Fletcher says headlines 'wrecked' her and Jordan Rodgers

The former Bachelorette lead reflects on the media scrutiny that strained her relationship with Jordan Rodgers after the show.

JoJo Fletcher is opening up about the rough patch that followed her season of The Bachelorette. In an exclusive interview with Page Six, the former lead said the barrage of headlines about her engagement to Jordan Rodgers nearly derailed them.

"I remember seeing so many ridiculous headlines that were always so far from the truth," Fletcher told Page Six. "In the moment, it wrecked us." She said that constant outside noise contributed to the stresses of a new relationship and figuring out life together.

Fletcher and Rodgers met in 2016 during season 12 of the ABC dating show. He proposed during the finale, and then came what she called "a pretty tough year." The coverage, amplified by a growing social media landscape, made things harder. "We've always kept choosing each other and we kept choosing to work through it," she said.

The couple eventually tied the knot in May 2022, after postponing their wedding twice because of the pandemic. On Dec. 23, 2025, they welcomed their first daughter, Romy Blair Rodgers, after an emergency C-section.

Rodgers' famous brother, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, was also a major storyline on the show. When Jordan brought Fletcher to his hometown of Chico, California, he addressed his estrangement from Aaron, which caused a media frenzy. Jordan's brother Luke said during the visit, "It pains both of us like, not to have that relationship. We miss our brother." Aaron has since said the family is working on rebuilding their relationship.

Now, a decade later, Fletcher can laugh about it. "Now 10 years later, a baby, it's just so silly," she told Page Six. "But it's a funny story to be able to tell and we're really lucky that it worked out for us."

Her secret to a lasting relationship after reality TV? Get out quickly. "The biggest thing that we did that made a huge difference is we got out of the bubble as soon as we could," she said. "We went straight back to our normal lives. We didn't stay and we didn't do all this and that event and that party."

Fletcher also talked about becoming a mom and prioritizing health, which led to her partnership with Mucinex. "When you become a mom, you don't get to feel sick," she said. "Being able to have 12-hour relief is a game changer."
