Fiona Lowe's Friend Recalls Their Friendship, Fire Loss

A family friend tells Page Six about the impact of the Palisades fire on Chad Lowe's daughter before her death.

A family friend of Chad Lowe has shared new details about the life of his daughter Fiona, who died by suicide in September at age 13. Music executive Mykesha Robinson, whose daughter Faith was close with Fiona in elementary school, told Page Six that the January Palisades fire left the Lowe family homeless.

"Something happened when the fires happened," Robinson said, describing the aftermath. "They lost everything."

Robinson said Faith and Fiona met on the first day of school at Palisades Charter Elementary School in Pacific Palisades, California. The two girls became inseparable — Robinson called them "two peas in a pod" and said they earned the nickname "FiFi."

"Faith had a tough time integrating," Robinson recalled. "It was kind of just really tough for her."

The friendship began when Fiona asked Faith if she wanted to be friends and jump rope. Robinson described Fiona as a "ray of light" who "would go up and talk to anybody."

After elementary school graduation, the girls lost touch. Two weeks ago, Faith tried to reconnect by creating an Instagram account and sending Fiona a friend request. The request was never accepted. Faith told her mother she hoped Fiona was "not mad at [me]" and that she "didn't do something wrong."

Robinson said she learned of Fiona's death on social media and has been in "buckets of tears over the situation." She told Page Six she reached out to Fiona's mother, Kim Painter, but has not heard back.

Page Six also contacted a representative for Lowe for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

In a statement to Page Six, Fiona's family said they were "deeply heartbroken" by the loss.

The Lowe family lost their home in the devastating Palisades fires last January. The following month, Lowe, 58, posted an Instagram photo of his family returning to what remained of their house. He wrote that his wife, Painter, 52, and their daughters — Mabel, 17, Fiona, and Nixie, 10 — handled losing their home of more than a decade with "nothing short of remarkable" grace.
