The comedian made his first public appearance since his Sept. 18 suicide attempt, Page Six reports.

Reported by Page Six: Carrot Top, born Scott Christopher Thompson, was photographed leaving a Las Vegas church Sunday in his first public sighting since a suicide attempt last month. The 61-year-old comedian smiled while walking among the congregation at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church, according to photos obtained by TMZ.

The outing marks his first since being released from the hospital after the Sept. 18 incident. Per a police report obtained by Page Six, he was found unconscious near his backyard pool after his manager requested a welfare check. The manager said Thompson had spoken on the phone about an upcoming article concerning sexual misconduct allegations, then texted "done" and hung up.

Thompson was hospitalized in critical condition and remained until around Sept. 26, when Page Six confirmed he was recovering at home. He has been on hiatus from his Las Vegas Luxor show, which he has headlined since 2005. No return date has been announced.

The suicide attempt came during an ongoing legal battle with former opener Brian Evans. Evans, who previously worked with Thompson at the Luxor, allegedly threatened to release a sexually explicit video unless paid $500,000. Evans denied the allegations to Page Six, saying he "never threatened" to post the video and that it was "deleted a long time ago." Thompson's lawyer also sought protective relief in the legal case after the attempt.
