Witney Carson: Her secret to a faster postpartum recovery

The DWTS pro shared her go-to workout while expecting her third child.

Witney Carson is about to welcome her third baby, and she has a plan for bouncing back after birth.

"Weight/pilaties help you recover faster after birth so we are getting it in," Carson, 32, wrote on her Instagram Story on Sunday, October 4, alongside a sweaty face emoji.

The *Dancing With the Stars* pro showed off some of her go-to Pilates and weight-lifting moves while in the gym. She wore a navy, tank-top style sports bra, black bellbottom leggings and white sneakers.

"I did one of our Mama Strong classes," Carson told her followers, describing her Finesse By Witney program routine. "You work out with me, I take you through step by step each move. We do it to music. It's really fun."

Carson explained that the Mama Strong class is "one of my favorite workouts" from her app, adding that she did a "full body Pilates" routine that day. Her fitness tips come from personal experience, having given birth to sons Leo and Jet in 2021 and 2023, respectively.

Competing while pregnant

Unlike her first two pregnancies, Carson is competing on season 35 of *DWTS* with partner Guillermo Rodriguez while expecting.

"I would be lying if I said it wasn't very daunting. I've never been this far along pregnant and competing on *Dancing With the Stars*, ever," Carson confessed on *Good Morning America* following her pregnancy reveal. "I don't know if it's ever been done."

Carson said she's "so proud to be a woman, to be creating life and growing this human, and to be able to do the show and compete ... is such a huge blessing."

Carson and her husband, Carson McAllister, 33, have been married since 2016. They announced in August they are expecting another baby boy. On September 22, Carson addressed some reactions to the sex of her third child via Instagram.

"'I'm so sorry you didn't get your girl...,'" she wrote, seemingly referring to some people's responses. "There is truly no disappointment here."

The Utah native added, "I get to be the mama of THREE beautiful boys and I couldn't feel more grateful, blessed, or excited."

Being apart from her boys

The hardest part of competing? Being away from her sons, who are back in Florida with McAllister while she lives in California for the show.

"It does get harder and harder, and, you know, obviously, being a mom comes first to me," she exclusively told *Us Weekly* on September 29. "All the hormones rushing through me also, I think, made it a little bit more intense."

Carson revealed that her dance partner, Rodriguez, 55, has made it easier to be apart from her loved ones.

"Honestly, I love what I do, and I am so grateful that I have a partner who is genuinely kind, who never gives up, and he's just willing to learn," she shared. "He's willing to put in the work, so it's all worth it in the end. I'm just happy to be here."

*Dancing With the Stars* airs on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
