Sonja Morgan: Reality TV is how I supported my daughter
The 62-year-old tells Us Weekly that her Bravo years funded Quincy's summa cum laude graduation from the University of Pennsylvania.

Sonja Morgan is making the case that reality TV was the family business. The 62-year-old tells Us Weekly in its annual Reality Stars of the Year issue that her Bravo years funded a private life that included sending her daughter Quincy to the University of Pennsylvania.
Quincy graduated summa cum laude, and Morgan credits the viewers who embraced the show. "It allows me to support my daughter," she tells Us Weekly. She also thanked Bravo and E! for the opportunity, saying she learned what reality TV is for: supporting the people who need it.
The family math
Morgan has long kept Quincy off camera. She tells Us Weekly that was a deliberate choice, and the result was a household that could afford college without putting a child in front of cameras. Quincy, born in 2000 during Morgan's marriage to John Adams Morgan, is now off at school. John Adams Morgan died in 2025 at 94.
With Quincy gone, Morgan says she is finally an empty nester. She has sold her house in New York and built a quieter life in Palm Beach. She tells Us Weekly she might be more open to a serious relationship now, but she is not rushing. "Dating is a challenge today," she says, adding that she plans to slow things down.
The Golden Life
Morgan joined The Real Housewives of New York City in its third season in 2010 and stayed for 11 seasons through 2021. She later appeared on Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake in 2023 and The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip before landing on E! with The Golden Life.
That show reunites her with RHONY co-stars Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon and Dorinda Medley, all now living in Palm Beach. Morgan says the group rarely sees each other between projects, so the new series is the rare chance to be together. The Golden Life premieres Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10 p.m. ET with a 90-minute episode on E!. The series continues Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
The ex factor
The interview also covers Harry Dubin, Morgan's on-and-off ex who was previously married to RHONY castmate Aviva Drescher. Morgan says Harry became more interested in the Bravo spotlight than in her, so she went about seven years without speaking to him, until his father was on his deathbed. They are back in contact, but she tells Us Weekly she is not a fan of Harry being in her friend group all the time.
The PR Read
A cast member crediting reality TV with funding a child's education is a familiar move before a reunion series lands. It gives viewers a story where the show matters beyond the drama. Morgan's version is especially clean because her daughter isn't on it: the payoff lives outside the frame. The message is that the public life built the private life, and now the private life is what she's sharing.
